American Alliance of Museums.<br>AAM has launched the Voluntary Repatriation, Restitution, and Reparations project to explore where these changes may lead museums in the future. They&#8217;ve developed new Standards for Museums with Native American Collections (SMNAC) to guide all aspects of work within museums holding Native collections.<br>AAM also addresses colonial-era provenance issues through their ethics standards and has been involved in Nazi-era provenance research since 2003. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mesures de restitution\u00a0:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AAM&#8217;s role is advocacy, guidance, and standard-setting, not direct restitution. Providing training and platforms for discussion to build museum capacity in these areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Limitations du cadre :<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All guidelines and standards are entirely voluntary for member institutions; AAM has no enforcement power. The &#8220;Voluntary&#8221; in its project titles underscores this non-binding, collaborative approach.
